How to Save 20% on Gift Card Purchases

At this year’s Amazon Prime Day, one of the most popular deals was a promotion where you buy a $50 Amazon gift card and receive an additional $10 credit for free—essentially a 17% discount on your next purchase.  It was a good deal, and I would have bought one had they not run out, but luckily, my Bonus Checking* account already gets me better deals on gift cards, including 20% off Amazon gift cards, every quarter.

Because I’m a Bonus Checking customer, I receive eClub access, which is a lot like an online version of an Entertainment Coupon Book.  You remember those, right?  Those massive, expensive coupon books that offer deals at local restaurants, retailers and attractions.  With eClub, not only do I get similar coupons for local restaurants, hotels, merchants, and entertainment, I also get $hopping Rewards™, which is an online shopping portal that gives me cash back toward future purchases, sort of like Kohl’s Cash.

Best of all, eClub saves me 20% on up to $75 dollars in gift cards at my favorite retailers—including gas station chains, Wal-Mart, Target, Amazon, and many more—each quarter.  I know I’m going to spend any card I purchase at these stores, so this benefit automatically saves me $60 per year.  It’s a massive shopping perk, and I don’t have to wait until Prime Day 2017 to get it.
