Bank of the Ozarks has been selected by MONEY magazine as the best bank in North Carolina for 2017 according to the magazine’s annual Best Banks in America.
Selections were made by the magazine based on fees, interest rates and account requirements for checking and savings accounts. MONEY compared more than 800 accounts and 18,000 data points collected by Bankrate.com. The largest 90 brick-and-mortar banks, 50 credit unions and 15 online banks were evaluated, as identified by bank consultancy firm Novantas.
According to the article in the November 2017 issue of MONEY, Bank of the Ozarks was “the only bank we saw here offering free checking without forcing you to jump through hoops to duck a monthly fee. Plus, if you sign up for direct deposit on My Choice Checking, you’ll get four free out-of-network ATM transactions each month.”
“Bank of the Ozarks’ people, products and financial strength makes us a favorite among businesses and consumers in North Carolina,” stated Cindy Wolfe, Bank of the Ozarks Carolinas President. “We are honored to be selected by MONEY magazine as the best bank in North Carolina. MONEY magazine’s designation as the best bank in North Carolina complements our ranking as the top performing bank in the country over the past seven consecutive years by several leading industry publications,” Wolfe added.
Bank of the Ozarks opened its first North Carolina office in Charlotte in 2001, and now has 24 offices in the state.
